So, I have finally setup my remote cable TV system (see post on 21 Oct) on my Dad's computer. Now, I am facing the noise problem...

My Dad's computer is in the bedroom and since I need to keep the computer on all the time for the recording, the humming sound of the fan keeps my parents awake in nite. So, I finally have to resolve to a scheduled power on/off scheme. I have set the BIOS on the computer to power on everyday in thh late afternoon (all the show that I want to record is in the evening). And when I finished downloading the video files from my Dad's PC, I use remote PC software to turn off the computer manually from my home. Would also be nice if I can remotely trigger the PC to turn on. That's what I want to do next...
